Frequently asked questions

How does the 7-day free trial work?

When you subscribe to MSO, you will enter your payment details through Stripe, but you will not be charged for 7 days. During this trial period, you can cancel at any time with no cost.

What is the difference between MSO and watching videos on YouTube?

MSO offers structured online mountain skills courses with multiple lessons per course, designed in a logical progression to help you develop your skills safely and effectively. You can also upload videos for feedback and have unlimited support from our MSO instructors — something you won’t get from free online videos.

How do I manage my subscription?

You can stop your subscription at any time. You can also resubscribe later if a new course is released that interests you.

To unsubscribe:

  1. Click your profile picture in the top-right corner of the homepage.

  2. Go to Settings → Billing Info.

  3. Cancel your subscription in this section.

If you have any issues, just send us an email at [email protected].

How do I update my payment method?

You can update your card by going to Profile → Settings → Billing Info. If you encounter any issues, email us at [email protected].

How do I change from a monthly plan to an annual subscription?

The simplest way is to cancel your monthly subscription and then start a new annual subscription.

If your subscription is through Stripe, we can also switch you manually if you email us. If you’ve just paid for a monthly plan when upgrading, we can refund your last payment.

Where are the courses filmed?

We aim to film in the best mountain environments to clearly demonstrate skills. Most MSO content is filmed in the European Alps, North Wales, and other iconic mountain regions.

How often will new courses be added?

We are continuously developing new content. Upcoming courses include:

  • Sports climbing

  • Trad rescues

  • Winter Mountaineering Skills

  • Alpine skills
  • Sports climbing rescues

  • Advanced Scrambling

And many more.

What currencies can I pay with?

You can pay in GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, NOK, DKK, and AUD via Stripe.

How do I upload videos for feedback?

You can upload videos for instructor feedback in several ways:

  • Directly in the comments section of the relevant lesson on the website.

  • Share a link via WeTransfer to [email protected].

  • Participate in the MSO community forum and share videos there for group feedback.

What is the best way to use MSO courses?

MSO courses are flexible and can be adapted to your learning style:

  • Step-by-step practice: Watch a lesson, go out on the mountain to practice, upload a video for feedback, and progress when ready.

  • Batch learning: Watch several lessons over a few evenings, then revisit exercises you want to focus on.

  • On-the-go learning: Take a mobile device in a protective case to the climbing wall, mountain, or training area. Watch a video, practice the exercise immediately, and record for feedback.

If you are attending an in-person course or guided training, MSO content can prepare you and help reinforce the skills.

For instructors, MSO lessons provide coaching ideas, breaking down skills into their core components with exercises to develop technique and safety awareness.

How do I watch MSO videos on my mobile device or tablet?

We have a dedicated app for iOS and Android. Search for Kajabi in your app store, download it for free, and log in to access all MSO videos on your devices without using a web browser.

How do I watch lessons on my smart TV?

  • In the Kajabi app, look for the cast icon on the video to cast to your smart TV.

  • If your TV has a web browser, you can access MSO directly.

  • Use screen mirroring from your tablet, phone, or laptop to your TV if supported.

Safety and preparation reminder

All MSO courses are designed for skill development. Always practice within your ability level, use appropriate safety gear, and consider supervision for higher-risk activities. Courses are intended to complement, not replace, in-person instruction where needed.
